چکیده

This paper presents an electromagnetic transient analysis of lightning-initiated overvoltage stresses the step-up transformers installed inside a nacelle onshore, multi-megawatt, new-generation wind turbines. The increase in turbine (WT) nominal power output, necessitated introducing transformer into nacelle. A is subjected to completely different from those present if it were at base WT tower. has serious repercussions on its protection (i.e., selection and installation surge arresters) insulation coordination. Furthermore, medium-voltage cables (inside tower) also problematic when considering their length, proximity tower wall, screen grounding practices, needs be tackled conjunction with that transformer. detailed models for various components latest-generation WTs, intended fast-front assembled within EMTP software package. We further comprehensive results lightning-transient numerical simulations, covering both upward downward (first subsequent) strikes, analysis, recommendations optimal arresters

Studies on an Electromagnetic Transient Model of Offshore Wind Turbines and Lightning Transient Overvoltage Considering Lightning Channel Wave Impedance

In recent years, with the rapid development of offshore wind turbines (WTs), the problem of lightning strikes has become more and more prominent. In order to reduce the failure rate caused by the transient overvoltage of lightning struck offshore WTs, the influencing factors and the response rules of transient overvoltage are analyzed. In this paper, a new integrated electromagnetic transient m...
